ROCKY MOUNTAIN ARSENAL NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE

In 1988 Wendy Shattil and Bob Rozinski were hired by the Department of Justice to document the wildlife at Rocky Mountain Arsenal, an EPA Superfund Site at the edge of Denver. Prior to determining the future of the property and its wildlife, they were contracted by the US Fish & Wildlife Service to photograph the Arsenal over seven years. In addition to their personal outreach to the community, they provided images for local, national and international media. Their images influenced public support for preserving the Arsenal as a National Wildlife Refuge.
